In the midst of grief and processing nearly 3 decades of unresolved problems, Joanna has drawn out the deepest reservoirs of my heart and mind through counseling. She asks sacred and important questions, excavating deep buried memories and thoughts from the most closed-off areas. Her compassionately attuned and inquisitive presence has made available the storyline of my life from implicit to explicit, unconscious to conscious. Her intuitive presence has been a powerful force in rewiring my mind, body, heart, and soul bringing me back to a place of wholeness. The ground Joanna has walked with me has been a rare, formative, and sacred journey. She has gripped my heart and will be imprinted on it forever.

Life coaching is defined differently by different coaches. With Joanna’s education in counseling and her training in trauma therapy, her coaching has a therapeutic bend. Clients are guided to explore topics that feel the most important at the moment, while Joanna helps them access their truest selves to navigate peaceful and powerful ways forward.
-
Therapy and life coaching both offer meaningful support, but they serve different purposes.
Therapy focuses on mental and emotional healing, helping you process past experiences, trauma, attachment wounds, and patterns that may be impacting your well-being and relationships. Therapy is often a space to slow down, explore what feels heavy or confusing, and build safety around parts of yourself that have learned to stay guarded.
Life coaching, on the other hand, is more future-focused. Coaching is for those who may not be seeking therapy but want support around authenticity, identity, life transitions, boundaries, and alignment. Rather than processing mental health concerns, coaching helps you clarify what feels true for you now and take intentional steps forward.
If you’re unsure which option is the best fit, I’m always happy to help you discern what kind of support would be most helpful for you.
